Big Water, Big Boats

After an amazing argument (I enjoyed it anyway) about access at the Upper Sprint, Jonny and I along with friends Andy Keen, Bobby G (A.K.A. Bus Stop...?!) and two others went to the Leven, which was stonking. A quick play on the floodgates and then we headed down stream. The river was not its usual self, with holes appearing and features flooding out. Near the end we decided to take 'the grade 2 bimble' past the rhodedendron island, which turned out to have waves the sizes of small cars sending us high into the [holly] trees. A fantastic trip, enjoyed from the comfort of our big boats. A quick visit to Matt and the team at Windermere Canoe and Kayak, and we set off home, grins all round...!

Earlier in the week, Jonny and I, along with Ness [Jonny's better half] and Tiny [the dog] visited Janet's Foss 'Park 'n' huck' special' just outside Malham. At four to five metres it was good fun, and excellent coursework avoidance.

Pics to follow.
